News: Confirmed: No New Windows Vista Build Today

Ryan over at Bink has posted a confirmation from Windows Beta Team guru Paul Donnelly that there will not be a new interim Windows Vista release today and that testers won't be getting Build 5365. http://bink.nu/Article6779.bink "We are considering releasing updated Windows Vista code to Windows Vista Technical Beta program participants as well as select TAP customers," a Microsoft spokesperson tells me. "In addition to the CTPs, we sometimes provide a select group of testers with current pre-release versions of Windows Vista based on their feedback and testing needs. These builds are not CTPs. As we have said, the next CTP will conclude the Beta 2 process and will be called Beta 2. We are on track to deliver Beta 2 in the second quarter of this year."

Thanks Andre - looks like I'll go and turn my spare machine off for the time being... and take away the nodding water toy away from the F5 key ;o)

I think the reason why they Cancelled the New Build, is because, their phones are ringing off the hook at MSDN Customer Support!

This is pointless; the Panzke uncertainty principle *clearly* states that one cannot simultaneously understand the NDA and be denied access to the most recent builds of a beta program.

All that comes out of trying to reply to so many posts that is that you end up with a Real Mental Disorder (TM, Patent Pending) and one will thenceforth be Unable to Currently Find a Job and Work for a Living.

All that comes out of trying to reply to so many posts that is that you end up with a Real Mental Disorder (TM, Patent Pending) and one will thenceforth be Unable to Currently Find a Job and Work for a Living.

What about it? I'm not here to be an MVP - Microsoft employment nulls it anyway, so me being here is no point, if you're insinuating that I want to be an MVP?
Yeh it'd be a lovely title to have... but it's not up to me to decide.

Well don't assume I participate and share my experiences here for a title. You obviously are doing it for the MVP title as evidenced by your comment on that post. I participate because I want to learn and share my experiences. My job affords me the time to do this (IT based) and I am greatful that I am able to give back to the community at the same time. I am testing Windows Longhorn Server and Windows Vista for my Company and myself of course, so I think participating in this community is a big opportunity for me to both harness the knowledge and experiences of others to help prepare us to deploy Windows Longhorn Server and Windows Vista on the client side when we see fit.

Whatever any of your motives are, whether it just for helping others or otherwise, it doesn't matter. Both of you, Andre and Zack, help people out in these newsgroups, so just try setting aside this bickering because at the end of the day, the people that are going to lose out are those that come here for information.
I'm not saying it will, but I certainly hope this is the end of it...
